For those of you looking to unleash your martial arts skills and become the next Karate Kid (no relation to, I guess what you could call, Karate Kid 4) THQ might just have what you’re looking for. All Star Karate is currently in development exclusively for Wii and is scheduled for release this spring.
The All Star franchise started in 2008 with All Star Cheer Squad. All Star Karate will be the first extension of the series which will have gamers punch, kick and chop their way through the game with play features based on real karate moves. To achieve the highest level of Black Belt, the player will experience the life of a karate trainee while being led by a wise, but humorous sensei. In single player, the soon to be Karate Master will use a Wii Remote and Nunchuk or two Wii Remotes to earn their way through seven different colored belts until they reach black. All Star Karate will also have a multiplayer mode for those looking to show off their skills in a Challenge Mode while also having the ability to create your own move sequences.
Wii Motion Plus will also work with All Star Karate but is not necessary. No official release date has been announced. For more information on All Star Karate, as well as additional THQ titles, please visit www.playthq.com.
