Will Madden predict the Superbowl winner again?

Although excitement is running wild in the cities of Indianapolis and New Orleans, there is still that small sting that every football fan around the nation feels. That undesirable feeling would be the end of football season. On top of that, EA and the official Madden Super Bowl simulation that started simulating each year’s Super Bowl back in 2004 is predicting an end that although exciting, picks the team filled with a bunch of dudes screaming “Who Dat!” beating the QB of QBs Peyton Manning. No Way!

Leading up to this year’s edition of the happiest and saddest football day that is Super Bowl XLIV, everybody is talking about the offense that will be running and throwing up and down the field all day long. EAs Super Bowl prediction game proved what everybody has been talking about, offensive fireworks. The first three quarters passed by with each team scoring at will with the Colts going into the fourth quarter with a 24-21 lead. The reemergence of Reggie Bush in the playoffs continued as he started the final quarter with a 42-yard punt return for a touchdown that put the Saints up 28-24. As Peyton has shown time and time again, nothing fazes him and along with the help of ex-LSU Tiger Joseph Addai the Colts get the go-ahead score with only minutes left. Number two championship for Mr. Manning and company? I’m afraid not! With barely anytime left on the clock Drew Brees locks up his Super Bowl XLIV MVP trophy and the Saints win their first championship in the clubs 46 year history with a 11-yard touchdown pass to David Thomas. Let us hope we are provided with a game like that!

EAs big game predictions have been surprisingly accurate over the years. Both the AFC and NFC games this year were correctly predicted within three points. Last year’s Steelers vs. Cardinals Super Bowl was predicted almost perfectly down to the final score and individual player statistics. If that isn’t wild enough, EA SPORTS has correctly predicted the Super Bowl winner for five out of the last six years, since the official Madden NFL Super Bowl simulation began in 2004.
