They could come out with a game where all Mario does is watch Bowser do his community service painting Princess Peach’s castle and you would have a hit on your hands. At first, I admit that I was kind of skeptical about the idea of another 2D Mario brother’s game but let me just say, this game is amazing. It is very Super Mario 3-esque and is surprisingly difficult too. I know I am rambling at this point but let’s break down the game!
Super Guide – I am annoyed yet understanding of why the ‘Super Guide’ was installed. Simply put, it was initiated to let people who stink at playing feel better about themselves. So be it, but at the same time it makes you feel horrible when you see that green box pop up because you have died too many times in a level. That green box is like a door to door salesmen knocking at your door, just make Mario run away… trust me.
Ice Flower – the wonderful addition of Mario Galaxy’s ice flower is awesome. Freeze enemy’s including Dry Bones. Throw him into a wall to get those bones to cease coming back together. The Ice Flower doesn’t project as far but it is a nice weapon to have at your disposal, I love it.
Bye bye Tanooki, hello Penguin Mario! – Mario’s penguin suit is like the old frog suit from Super Mario Bros. 3. It is not useful in most situations but will come in handy when necessary.
This game is amazing as well as challenging and I highly recommend it. The Star coins in each level are a good challenge to the seasoned gamer. The applause that happens at certain points makes me feel well accomplished.
What evil scheme will Bowser and those crazy Koopa kids think of next? They kidnapped the Princess on her birthday of all days. Princess Peach does not have the best of luck with cake. Remember Super Mario Bros. RPG and the evil wedding cake? Now the Koopa Kids put her inside a cake and run so fast that Mario and Luigi don’t even have time to figure out what is happening! By the way, speaking of Luigi… This game also proves Luigi is better because he is used in the Super Guide and much like Chuck Norris does not die. P0wn to all you Mario fans.
